In the fall of 2017, Abi moved from Puerto Rico, away from his beautiful island nation and family, to study Materials Science at the University of Maryland. At orientation, he complimented Becca's dress. They both carried a camera and rode their bikes around. They would work on homework together with their other classmates and commiserate on the difficulty of grad school.

The fall semester of 2018, they both had to retake Thermodynamics of Materials and had to retake it (thanks Rabin!). This started a lot more one on one homework time, meeting up after class and staying up late together, even if there wasn't any homework being done. Becca would invite him to hang out with her girlfriends in DC to go dancing. Abi would slip notes in Becca's backpack.

In the summer of 2019, Abi couldn't hold it in any longer! He told her that he likes her and that he could see himself spending the rest of his life with her. Becca said, "finally! Kiss me!"

Grad school was hard, and Covid was crazy, but they made it through. They've lived in three different homes together. It's been almost seven years since the first kiss. 100+ house plants, kitchen utensils, pet fish, trips, concerts, and hundreds of biked miles later, Abi proposed to Becca during a vacation to Australia in November 2025. It's time to make it official and unite the families. They can't wait to celebrate this union with you and to have your support in the growth of this family!

Allá en agosto del 2017, justo antes del Huracán María, Abimael decidió dejar su patria, su familia y sus amigos, con la intención de perseguir estudios en Ciencia e Ingeniería de Materiales en la Universidad de Maryland. El día de la orientación, Abi tiró su primer grano de maiz, dándole un cumplido a Rebecca por su lindo traje. Ambos paseaban en bicicleta y cargaban con una cámara pa'rriba y pa'bajo. Juntos estudiaban con compañeros de clase y se quejaban de lo difícil que era la vida de escuela graduada.

En el otoño del 2018, ambos tuvieron que repetir la dichosa clase de Termodinámica de Materiales, gracias al profesor Rabin. Esto inició largas noches de estudiar juntos y encuentros luego de clase; aún si a veces no había nada que estudiar. Becca invitaba a Abi a bailar y janguar con sus amigas en DC. Mientras, Abi de vez en cuando le dejaba notitas a Becca en su mochila.

Finalmente, en el verano del 2019, Abi no se pudo contener más; le confesó cómo se sentía y cómo veía que podría pasar el resto de su vida con Becca, a lo cual ella contestó "al fin, bésame".

La escuela graduada fue difícil, la pandemia fue una loquera (aunque Abi dice que la pasó bien), pero a pesar de todo, el amor perseveró. Desde entonces, han vivido en 3 lugares diferentes juntos; han pasado ya casi 7 años desde el primer beso. Más de 100 plantas, utencilios de cocina, peces, viajes, conciertos y cientos de millas en bicicleta luego, Abi le pidió matrimonio a Becca durante unas vacaciones en Australia en noviembre de 2025. Es tiempo de hacerlo oficial y unir las familias. Ambos están ansiosos de celebrar esta unión con ustedes y contar con su apoyo en el futuro de su relacíon. Les esperamos!
